Apple announce new HD iPad 3
Apple yesterday launched its latest version of it’s iPad which features a full HD screen with 3.1 million pixels and a new supercharged processer which is 4x as fast as the iPad 2.
The device will be available on March 16th and priced from £399.00 – £659.00, which is the same price range Apple launched the iPad 2 over a year ago.
The main features of the iPad (not named iPad 3 for some reason) are:
- Retina display, 5 megapixel camera and 4G LTE capability.
- Screen is sharper than most 40-inch living room televisions.
- Latest version powered by high-speed A5x chip.
- Apple boasts picture resolution so crisp that words will appear sharper than words in print.
The increased screen resolution from 1024 x 768 pixels to 2048 x 1536 pixels means the the new iPad has a new stunning retina display – as on the iPhone 4 and 4S. This means you can’t distinguish individual pixels and the resolution is a stunning 264ppi in sharpness.
Current apps for the iPad will look slightly blurred in appearance on the new iPad and most apps will require a simple front end upgrade to allow for the extra pixels and to give apps the beyond HD appearance.
