So Apple have announced that they will be releasing the “Apple Music” app at the end of this month and it’s got everyone talking about it. So what is this app all about? And will you be subscribing?
Apple Music will be an app that gives you access to millions of songs within the option of offline listening. As well as, a 24/7 global radio station and they will also provide you with personal recommendations. Sounds cool right?
It is not only us that thinks so, Drake spoke at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) about how amazing it feels for him to be apart of it!
June 30th is the big day that the app will be made available to download. For iPhone and iPad users the app will be downloaded as part of the iOS 8.4 update meaning that thousands of users will not need to do anything strenuous to get the app. In terms of Apple Music, this could mean that it has the potential to become enormous within days of the update. Apple have also stated that the app will be made available to Android users this Autumn which is also great.
Apple are providing users with a free 3 month trial of the app. After the 3 months there are 2 different subscription packages either the single membership which is £9.99 a month or the family membership at £14.99 a month. The family membership allows 6 different members to have access to the app.
The biggest competitor for Apple Music is Spotify. Basing a comparison on the price, Spotify is in a bit of danger. The single membership is the same price for both Apple Music and Spotify but the change is in the family membership. As I said earlier, Apple allow a family membership of £14.99 for up to 6 members. Spotify have worked on a basis of £9.99 and then 50% off for any additional users. So based on this, a family membership for 5 users will work out at £29.99 so you can see the difference between the 2 prices!
So the competition has begun but who will you be choosing?
