New Twitter archive aids market research
From today businesses will be able to search tweets back to January 2010, which will allow firms to plan marketing campaigns, target users and forecast events or trends.
Twitter has teamed up with UK based to Datasift offer the archive. It is the first time anything like this has been attempted and with Twitter taking around 250 million tweets every 24 hours, this data is analysed for content as well as the tone of the Tweet.
The software also logs location data as well as social media influence using the monitoring service Klout. Already a waiting list of 1000 companies is ready to access this new service with tools being available form businesses to get detailed reports showing activity around a certain term or topic.
We think this is a great tool for businesses who are trying to deal with consumers via social media, allowing them to target their activates more and within a year will be an important tool for all businesses.
