As soon as a new smartphone is released people start speculating about the next one, its the way of the world.

This is even more true when its a new device from industry giants Apple and Samsung.

This time round its the Samsung Galaxy S7 which has tongues wagging, and fans waiting with bated breath. At the minute not many facts are known about the S7, but one things for sure, if the rumours are anything to go by, this could be the smartphone of 2016.

So what’s new, and what’s so special about the Samsung Galaxy S7?

The quick figures and the important rumours:
The Unveiling: February 2016
The Likely Release: March 2016
The Features: USB Type-C, Wireless Changing, Iris Scanner, Android M

With features like that to look forward to its no wonder the S7 is getting Samsung fans excited and it won’t bee too long before these rumours get confirmed.

The Release

It’s been speculated that the S7 has been brought forward by quite a few months due to the success of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

Slow sales of the S6 have also been a rumoured contribution to this earlier than normal release date, but it’s safe to say that Samsung fans won’t be complaining if they’ll have a new device by March.

The Tech Specs

If its the gritty details and specs you’re after, then the S7 won’t disappoint.
The Screen: 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD display
The Camera: 23-megapixel
The OS: Android M
The Processor: Snapdragon 820 CPU

What we really want to see, and all have our fingers crossed for, is the Iris Scanner. It’ll be on the device as a security feature, with a Windows 10 style phone unlocking function, and it’s assumed that Samsung have been working on it for years, so expect it to be good.

The Excitement

At the minute not much else is known about the mysterious S7, and even the price is still under speculation (but you can guess it’ll be around £600).

For now, it’s a waiting game, but we’ll keep you informed of new rumours, and in the meantime you could always brush up on your knowledge of Android Marshmallow.
