After waiting for what seems like a lifetime, and hearing the countless leaks and rumours, the Samsung Galaxy S7 (and Edge) are finally out and about in all their glory.
So without further ado, let’s say hello to the Galaxy S7, and S7 Edge…
For those who feel like they’ve been waiting forever to get their hands on this phone, the wait won’t be much longer. With a release date of March 11th, and pre-ordered handsets from selected retailers shipping on March 8th, the S7’s are just around the corner.
Brace yourself, because the cost is pretty high.
The S7 is going to set you back £569.99, and the S7 Edge is going to be a hefty £639.99, but trust us, they’ll be worth the price.
As reiterated throughout Samsung’s presentation of the new S7 devices, they listened to exactly what their audience wanted, and gave them even more.
Yep, in the style of the S5, Samsung are once again making their new phone waterproof.
But this time, there’s a twist. Where the S5 was waterproofed by protecting it on the outside, the S7 will be waterproofed from the inside, without a headphone jack cover in sight.
Expandable Storage is back
Giving the people what they want, (and having a dig at Apple) Samsung have bought expandable storage back, in a new stylish way.
Safely tucked away alongside the dual sim slot, expandable storage will help Samsung users put everything they’d ever need on their phone.
The Camera gets a serious upgrade
Along with getting rid of the awkward protruding camera lens of the S6, the camera is getting a major upgrade.
With fewer megapixels but more power, the 12-meg monster gives you improved autofocus and impressive low-light shots.
And it’s not just the main camera that’s getting better, the front facing camera is committed to making you look good, with 5-megapixels and ‘Beauty Face’ touch-up software.
Much better Battery Life
Owners of the S6 will know the struggle that came with making the battery last all day.
That’s a thing of the past with the S7’s battery. The 3600 mAh outshines most other phone batteries out there at the minute, giving you approximately 13 hours of full HD video watching, and eradicating the need to find a plug socket in the afternoon.
Because Samsung weren’t content with just giving you the option to get yourself one of the best phones on the market, they’ll also be giving Gear VR headsets to those who pre-order, so you can really get the most out of your new device.
There’s no denying the next Samsung is going to be a brilliant bit of kit, and we challenge you not to get excited about its arrival.
Although some of the rumours turned out the be false (we were really looking forward to some iris scanner technology), the phone looks like it’s going to be brilliant, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it and see our Android apps running on one.
